Freshwater fish at A Fish Store Pensacola

Business partners Dale Sutek and Chris Jones took a leap of faith during the COVID-19 pandemic to launch A Fish Store, a store filled with freshwater aquariums atop handmade shelves that line the walls. The result is a maze of tanks stocked with exotic and classic fish from all over the world, including Tiger Barbs, Rabbit Snails, South American Needlefish, Flagtails, German Ram Cichlids, and Goldfish.

All fish require proper habitats to thrive. Water must be properly conditioned to maintain the correct pH level and temperature, and aquariums should include decorative substrate for nitrifying bacteria to adhere to and promote biological filtration. Aquariums also need a heater and thermometer to keep the water at a stable temperature, which reduces stress and disease. Additionally, all tanks need gravel cleaners, nets, algae scrapers, and test kits to monitor water quality.
